Starting a Journey

Hi Ya'll!  My name is Mark Connors and I decided to become a tourist in Charleston, even though I already live here.  My wife  Erika (pictured above) and I met here in Charleston about 4 years ago, and got married in June 2012.  We both have lived in Charleston for about 7 years now, both trying to avoid the snow in the north. During that time we have done the typical Charleston tourism things.  We have visited the aquarium, been to the Farmer's Market, been on walking tours, carriage tours and anything else that is considered touristy.

Now we are looking for something more, before the babies come!  I want to do some of the things Yankees(we are both from the north) don't know about.  What are those secret things that only locals know about?  This blog will serve as the the documentation of this journey.  We are looking for beautiful sites, amazing food, unique attractions and anything else this eccentric city has to offer.  Basically we want all the hidden treasures the Lowcountry can give us.

We love to travel so this is right up our alley.  I have been backpacking through Europe twice in college, spent a spring break in the Galapagos Islands and traveled all around the U.S.  We just got back from Jamaica for our 1 year anniversary, and took a European Cruise for our honeymoon.  On top of that we love to visit Asheville and other places in the Southeast.

So I need ideas from everyone.  In the comment section below please leave us these ideas or email me at mconnors11@gmail.com.  We will pick a couple to do each month and then post our travels on this blog for all of the world to see.  Please help us as we go on this journey together.
